Spider Wart
by Teresa Boardman on Jun.16, 2010, under Flowers
The pretty flower with the funny name. This is a tradition for me. I love these flowers. I found this one downtown in Mears Park. On the way to Illinois a couple of weeks ago I saw bunches of them growing along the road. They are wildflowers. The plants kind of look like spider plants with long thin leaves and the flowers grow in clusters. It doesn’t seem like each flower is open for very long. I found some last year in the rain and went back the next day to take some photos and all of the flowers were gone. I guess that is why I like to keep my camera handy and stop to use it when I can because we don’t always get a do over and sometimes later, someday or tomorrow never arrive they are just excuses.

This photos was taken at he wild horse preserve that I mentioned yesterday. It was a challenge to get photo of a horse that was moving while it was moving but she wasn’t going too fast. They are amazing animals. They were used to seeing people but they didn’t want us to get too close.
Wild horses
by Teresa Boardman on May.12, 2010, under Landscapes, Places
I visited the wild horse sanctuary in South Dakota last week. I have to say it was amazing. The land is gorgeous with no wires or poles any where and the horses were gorgeous. I got some action shots. This horse is taking a break or something. I know the wild sage is common in the area but I thought it was gorgeous.

I am not sure about this but I think this burro is part of park security. He stops cars and checks for illegal substances.
Wild Geraniums

They don’t look like the geraniums I have on my front porch. The flowers are much smaller but I think they are prettier. I would not expect to find any of these blooming around the twin cities for a couple of weeks but right now they are in full bloom.
