<p>In 2012 I am going to take more pictures of trees.  This ancient tree is on the shore of lake Como in St. Paul and it is one of the designated landmark trees.  I am not the only one who takes trees seriously.</p>

<p>We have not had a lot of rain these past few weeks.  The river is finally back where it belongs and there is even a little beach here and there.   The tree in the picture is a cotton wood that grows close to the river.  The roots get a good cleaning every spring.</p>

<p>I have not had the opportunity to take pictures for at least except for some interior photographs for a client.  I took this one a month ago with my phone and then used the AutoPaint app on my iPad to process it.  Kind of fun and very easy to do.  The app does all the work.</p>

<p>I am the mayor of Harriet Island on Foursquare.  I often ride my bike through the park and sometimes I take my dog down to the park for a walk.  One of the many reasons I like going there are the giant ancient cotton wood trees and the noise they make when there is a breeze.  It sounds like a waterfall.</p>
