Winter Tree

There wasn’t anyone in the park when I stopped by but the bench and the tree are there waiting for spring.

Scotch Pine

In 2012 I am going to take more pictures of trees.  This ancient tree is on the shore of lake Como in St. Paul and it is one of the designated landmark trees.  I am not the only one who takes trees seriously.

Oakland Cemetery

It has been awhile since I stopped by the old cemetery.  I love the ancient oak trees with or without leaves on them.

Ash Tree

We started to see more of the oranges and reds last weekend.  The ash tree is one of the first to lose it leaves.  This one has a bat house in it.

Maple leaves

I took this with my phone while I was walking the dog yesterday.   I processed it on an iPad using the DynaLightHD app.  It doesn’t look much like a photo any more but it would work on a web site banner or maybe as a background or wall paper.

Roots

We have not had a lot of rain these past few weeks.  The river is finally back where it belongs and there is even a little beach here and there.   The tree in the picture is a cotton wood that grows close to the river.  The roots get a good cleaning every spring.

Cotton Wood Tree

I have not had the opportunity to take pictures for at least except for some interior photographs for a client.  I took this one a month ago with my phone and then used the AutoPaint app on my iPad to process it.  Kind of fun and very easy to do.  The app does all the work.

Park Bench Harriet Island

I am the mayor of Harriet Island on Foursquare.  I often ride my bike through the park and sometimes I take my dog down to the park for a walk.  One of the many reasons I like going there are the giant ancient cotton wood trees and the noise they make when there is a breeze.  It sounds like a waterfall.

Pin Oak

I live oak trees. I probably have too many pictures of them on the blog.  This one is in Highland Park near the golf course.  The pin oak has branches that curve every which way. They look like sculptures.
