Holiday Lights at Dawn
by Tboard on Dec.10, 2009, under Landscapes, The Dark, Urban
This is one of those shots I got on my way to take photos of something else. The sun was just coming up and I saw it from my car. I pulled over and started shooting. The park looks very different in the winter at dawn with the lights on the arbor. Here is a photo I took of the same park last summer.
Everyone takes this shot

Only people who have ever been to Duluth Harbor take this shot. I think I have taken it in all tyeps of weather and light. This one is kind of OK. Not much of a sunrise that morning.
Como Lakeside Pavilion

As a friend of mine tells me I am lucky to live some place where there are so many wonderful buidings to take photos of. This one is in Como park and home of Black Bear Crossing a cafe coffee shop kind of place. Maybe I should have shot the bear too. It is only about three miles from where I live so I can shoot the bear most any time.
The reason why there is water in my photos almost everyday is because it freezes over in the winter. I can’t get enough of seeing it right now. In the winter I take outdoor shots but more indoor shots.
Morning Mist

Last Sunday I got up very early, like 4:30 or so. I went to lake Phalen to shoot the lake and the park. For fun I put the little 50mm lens on my camera and had some fun. It was a beautfiul morning on the lake. A cup of coffee would have been nice but the sunrise made up for it . . . . almost.

Taken on the North shore of Lake Superior in Duluth Minnesota. I still have not seen a more beautiful place than the North shore.
