Another blue hour photo of the river. It is fairly rare to see it this quiet.
Downtown St. Paul. Kind of a fun view but it took me awhile to orient myself.
Some people bike all winter long. I will bike when it is cold out but I generally avoid snow and slush. Sunday was the first time since the end of November 2012 that I took my bike out. I bundled up and wore gloves. There were patches of snow and ice in the woods but the trails were clear. I have to say I did enjoy myself and I took a few photos with my phone as I went. So many things changed during the few months that I did not use some of the local paths. The picture is of the Niceride station on the upperlanding which is between Shepard road and the mighty Mississippi River near downtown St. Paul.
I think I have a whole gallery dedicated to this building some place on this site and I am sure this will not be my last shot. The Xcel center is the home of the Minnesota Wild Hockey team but it is also a landmark. I like they way it looks at night and I think the last time I took photos of it they were from the roof of the Holiday Inn located across the street. That was fun and there are more roofs in my future.
Kellogg Boulevard at the Xcel Center. This was taken from the roof of the Holiday inn. Kind of fun but it would look better at night all lit up. Maybe next time . . or tonight?
I visit the state capital building at least once a year. It is a great place to take photos. Last year I didn’t bring my wide angle lens and tht was a big mistake. You just can’t beat a good wide angle lens for interior photography. This is the stairway that everyone shoots so I have to do it too. The picture doesn’t come close to capturing it’s beauty. Maybe next year I will get one that does.
