The Park in the Winter
by Tboard on Jan.14, 2010, under Landscapes, Places
Early in the morning on a cold day. The steam that rises from the Mississippi River, because the river never freezes solid and the open water is warmer than the air. Hard to photograph becasue the photographer doesn’t work well in the cold.
Gray Day

One of several photos that I took from the passenger seat of a moving car last March. It was gray just about every day that week. This is probably in Illinois.
Empty Room
by Tboard on Oct.03, 2009, under For Fun
I am participating in a virtual photo meet up this week. We are to take a photo of the same thing for six days in a row. This shot was taken on day four. For some reason people find an empty room to be compelling. I put different things in the room but so far I have shot it from the same angle everyday. What they don’t know is that I have been working on the room. I sanded the floor last weekend, it was about half done when I took this shot. I have been putting hardware back and by the last day I should have the baseboards fixed up and painted. The house is over 150 years old. There is some work involved in keeping it standing. It used to be a labor of love but these days I find it exhausting. I have done a lot to the house these past three or four months and the work will continue.
A different point of view

The poppies are so orange and the sky so blue. It makes me wish that summer could last longer.

by Tboard on Mar.27, 2009, under Landscapes
This photo looks fine in color but I like the black and white. I call it lucky shot because I was riding in a car that was going about 70 when I took the shot. I used burst mode and of the five shots this is the only one that looks like power lines. It was taken in Illinois. The scene has fascinated me for years but there isn’t any where to pull off the road and take a picture. Why is it that the best views are from the freeway or some other place where it is impossible to get a shot? There ought to be a law!
