Parking Anytime

uncovered wagon

uncovered wagon

This wagon has been parked in this parking lot on west 7th street, in St. Paul since the 1800’s.  Not  really but it seems like it.  There is a story . . . but not a very interesting one. It was once stolen from the West End Business nd Professional association.  They used it as a float in the local parade . . . which has not been held for years . . and there is a story there too.  The association eventually got the wagon back and then they parked it here.  I think the building is owned by a member. At one point they tried to sell it but I don’t think they ever did. I guess there are some things that are fun to steal but people don’t want them if they have to pay for them.

The Boiler Room

Boiler room

Boiler room

Look up on the right corner of the photo. That is bud. We had to move our office and that meant a trip through the boiler room. Bud suggested that I bring my camera because he knows I like to take photos of valves and dirty rusty things too. I hit the jack pot with this boiler room and only wish I could have taken more photos.

A little urban decay

Urban decay

Urban decay

These shots are fun to take.  I used some HDR to really bring out the decay, just for fun. It probably doesn’t make a very nice post card but it is colorful and fun to process. I took a bunch of them and I think I know another place where I can get some good shots . . but I am always open to suggestions.
