Red Trains are the best
by Tboard on Mar.05, 2010, under Places
I keep saying I should have a lost and found category for this blog. This is one that I took last November in San Diego. I took so many photos while I was there I am likely to find a few more. This makes a nice change of pace for me because there isn’t any of the white stuff in the photo.
Red and White

I like to think of March as the march toward spring. It may not look like it from the photos but we are making progress, the snow was covering the seats.
Happy March
by Tboard on Mar.01, 2010, under Architecture, Buildings
The first day of March has me thinking about how wonderful it would be to take photos of architecture without snow in them. There are some advantages to this time of year. In the summer this shot would have showed more tree than building but I long for green grass, flowers and warm weather.
The home pictured is part of the DeLuc Estate in Hastings Minnesota, and is in the Gothic revival architectural style. Kind of busy but I like the combination of wood and brick, and those wonderful huge old oak trees. Hastings is a small town of about 30,00o. There are many wonderful historic buildings churches and houses to photograph. I need to go there more often.
A shed with ginger bread
by Tboard on Feb.28, 2010, under Architecture, Places
They don’t make them like this anymore. This shed is in Hastings MN and part of the historic and well preserved LeDuc estate. The buildings are Gothic revival. Hastings is just south of St. Paul on the Mississippi river. This barn isn’t as pretty as the house but I liked the shadows on it from the ancient oak trees the surround it.
Popcorn
by Tboard on Feb.20, 2010, under Buildings, Places
I went downtown so I could go for a walk through the skyways. It is always warm in the skyways, maybe too warm. I love popcorn and so this is where I bought my lunch at the popcorn stand in the Osborn building. The shadow of the man to the left talking on his cell phone isn’t supposed to be in the picture so please just ignore him.
The long bus
by Tboard on Feb.05, 2010, under The Dark, Urban
Everyone has heard of the short bus but how many know about the long bus? This is the longest bus in the Twin Cities. Probably the fastest too. I can’t really prove that it is but you can’t prove that it is not so we are even. This is the last of my 6th Street transit station series. Maybe the next time I get up at 4:30 in the morning I will try the airport.
