Nothing like a violet in the winter. it will bloom until June or July and the take a break for a couple of months before starting up again. They like light but not too much light and they like water but not too much water and they like plant food but just the right amount of the right kind of plant food . . other than that they are easy to grow.
June is when the spiderwart blooms. I found this flower in a large patch at Como Park.
I took this shot for a friend. It is a sign that summer is winding down. People don’t much like photos of flowers and plants but I have always loved both and I like taking pictures of them. I found these growing in the gardens at the Science Musum of Minnesota in St. Paul. I am not exactly sure what they are but they sure look like grapes so that is what I call them.
