These are lovely at night too. I have photographed them many times because they are fun to photograph and from what I saw photographers like to use the area for engagement pictures and portraits.
No nearly as old and famous as the stone arch bridge, the nearby 3rd avenue bridge which spans the Mississippi near St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis. I have photographed this many times before but not from this angle.
Taken on the historic stone arch bridge in Minneapolis MN. The Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The bridge opened in 1883. I have a feeling it will be around for a long time. In the background you can see downtown Minneapolis and the mill ruins.
Just a 14 mile bike ride to St. Anthony falls in Minneapolis. There the remains of the flour mills that used to bring jobs to Minneapolis and flour to the world.
This is the famous stone arch bridge in Minneapolis. If you look over the sides there is a magnificent view of St. Anthony falls. On a nice day the bridge if full of walkers, joggers, people on bikes, roller blades and even segways. The bridge is long and wide and has designated bike lanes. One of the best ways to photograph it is at night at river level. I have not done that yet. 🙂
It was such a gorgeous day on Saturday that I decided to bike to Minneapolis. It is a twenty mile round trip for me and one that the really enjoyed, even the hills. I plan to do it again in the fall.
