From Harriet Island.  I love the huge old cotton wood trees and this was just an excuse to photograph them. . . .and I have photographed every one of them before.

TCF Stadium

I usually don’t post two photographs of the same thing but why not?   The TCF stadium is located on the University of Minnesota campus.

Park Bench Harriet Island

I am the mayor of Harriet Island on Foursquare.  I often ride my bike through the park and sometimes I take my dog down to the park for a walk.  One of the many reasons I like going there are the giant ancient cotton wood trees and the noise they make when there is a breeze.  It sounds like a waterfall.

Mississippi River

I took this on Memorial day. In this part of the country cold and rain on the Memorial day holiday are more common than sunshine and warm weather.

Barges & skyline

I think rust and buildings photograph better when it is cloudy which is a good think because it was cloudy most of the time over the Memorial day weekend.

Rice Park - Blue Hour

Not much to shoot this time of year with out freezing to death so I photograph downtown workers during rush hour in one of my favorite downtown parks.

News Stands

They look better covered with snow than they do without but I wish they were not there at all obstructing my view of Mears Park.

3rd Avenue Bridge

This is one of those shots that everyone takes and that I mostly avoid.  The Mississippi river likes to flood the St. Paul parks but Minneapolis is North and the parks remain high and dry.  The water is a little high but it isn’t a flood.
