Water Lilies

The color of these flowers is amazing.   They are Asian water lilies found at Como Park . . and probably in Asia too.

Municipal Grain Elevator

This was too much fun.  The 4th of July was one of those muggy cloudy days with big dark clouds.  The photo is made from three bracketed  shots and I gave it the most extreme HDR treatment that I could without making a total mess.  . . or maybe it is a total mess but I had fun with it and that is all that really matters.  The photo was taken down in the River Park in St. Paul and is of the newly restored Municipal  Elevator.   We have the most beautiful parks in St. Paul.

Untility Box on Kellogg

Instead of being painted that ugly green this utility box has pictures on it of what you would see if the box were not there.  Each side has the view that you would see if you stood where the box is.  It blends in so well you don’t really see it.  Located on Kellogg Blvd. in downtown St. Paul.

mildweed

Here it is the annual photo of the milkweed.  It is a wildflower and food for the monarch butterfly.  I let a few grow in my yard so that the butterflies will stop by for a visit.

spider wart

The pretty flower with the funny name.  This is a tradition for me. I love these flowers.  I found this one downtown in Mears Park.  On the way to Illinois a couple of weeks ago I saw bunches of them growing along the road.  They are wildflowers. The plants kind of look like spider plants with long thin leaves and the flowers grow in clusters.  It doesn’t seem like each flower is open for very long.  I found some last year in the rain and went back the next day to take some photos and all of the flowers were gone.  I guess that is why I like to keep my camera handy and stop to use it when I can because we don’t always get a do over and sometimes later, someday or tomorrow never arrive they are just excuses.

More building hardware.  I promise this is my last valve shot for awhile. I just needed to get it out of my system and it is out of my system until I see another valve.

Wild horse

This photos was taken at he wild horse preserve that I mentioned yesterday.  It was a challenge to get photo of a horse that was moving while it was moving but she wasn’t going too fast.  They are amazing animals.  They were used to seeing people but they didn’t want us to get too close.
