Wild Columbine

Wild columbine grows in Minnesota.  I never planted any in my yard.  It plants it self every year where it wants to grow.  Mostly shade, part sun on the North side od the house.

Pink Tulips

I don’t think I have eve met a Tulip that I did not like. I grow them in several colors even pink.   Happy Friday the 13th.

Crabapple blossoms

The trees are blooming way ahead of schedule.  it has been windy but I used a real fast shutter speed.  I hope to have a little free time late today to see what else is blooming.

Daffodils

These grow by the house and they bloomed early this year and then the temperatures got cooler and they stayed open a couple of extra days.  The spring flowers are the most beautiful and the tulips are next.

Crocus

Spring came suddenly last week.  My early crocus are almost done blooming and the later crocus, daffodils and tulips are just coming up.  Some of the trees and bushes already have a little green on them.

Asters

I spent some time in the woods last Saturday.  I am looking for places to take photos of the fall color.  I love the woods this time of year.  It is dry and there are so many flowers blooming.  I found these along the brick yard trail in Lilydale park.  I also found clumps of them blooming along the river bluff in Cherokee park in St. Paul.  They are in shades of white and blue and the dark purple New England asters just started blooming.

State Capitol Rose Garden

The roses are in bloom on the grounds of the Minnesota state capitol building.  There are several gardens on the grounds and a lot of sculptures too.  The best time to visit is on Sunday morning.

Lilacs

It is a shame that the Lilacs only last about a week.  They are fading fast but they still smell amazing.
