I took the picture with my phone. The ducks live at Episcopal homes on University avenue. They were born last spring in the garden which can only be accessed through the building. The males have flown away but the females still live in the garden.
These ducks are oh so tame. They have spent their lives in the company if humans. We watched them grow from little fuzzy things that would follow their mother everywhere into adult ducks.
Ducks – lake phalen
The ducks didn’t seem to mind the heat last Sunday.
Actually our lakes don’t talk at all but I needed a catchy headline. I found this photo for a client. I took it a few years ago while photographing city parks for the city.
Early morning swim
I took this a couple of years ago along lake Phalen. It was such a beautiful day. I watched the sun rise and took pictures around the lake. It may be too cold to go outside but it is never too cold to look at pictures.
Ducks on Ice
I don’t know how the little critters do it. They take a swim in the ices river and then take a nap on the ice.
Mr. and Mrs. Duck
I live close to the Mississippi River and went down to see how high the water is this year. It is higher than I have seen it in years and my favorite walking path is underwater and closed. It has been higher. Some years Shepard Road has been underwater but since they realigned the road a few years ago it seems to be high enough so that the river can’t get it. The ducks are swimming and having a great time where I used to walk and don’t seem to mind having their pictures taken.
