The gold-leafed Quadriga on the roof of the State Capitol building looking at the Cathedral. I took several pictures from the roof last month.
I maybe should have stood closer to the window. There is a nice view of the Minnesota State Capitol building from the Minnesota History Center, which makes sense. They even have a bench and some binoculars.
The head of a horse in the gold-leafed Quadriga on the roof of the State Capitol building looking at the Cathedral. John Ireland Blvd is all that separates church and state in Minnesota.
I am sure someone will correct me if I got this wrong but it looks like the work is done on the dome of the Minnesota state capitol building. I don’t see any scaffold and it sure looks nice. When it is safe to go outside again without freezing I am going to get some more pictures.
Landscaping is an amazing thing. Our state capitol grounds have sculptures and gardens. There are beautiful rose gardens too. I like to go for a walk on the grounds early in the morning on the weekend and just take it all in. I keep finding sculptures and water features. A great place to explore.
