Turret

One of my favorite St. Paul homes complete with turret.  I don’t live in a house with a turret because . . . never mind.  I am going to say this home is a Queen Anne style victorian home.

TCF Stadium

I usually don’t post two photographs of the same thing but why not?   The TCF stadium is located on the University of Minnesota campus.

Docks along Harriet Island

This dock is the the Mississippi River.  There used to be a couple of restaurants on boats parked along the dock but they are gone now.  I think the floods and the recession chased them away.  This is a poplar area because of the nearby parks.  Maybe I need to open a hot dog stand?

E. 4th street

They just keep digging this street up and then digging it up again.  I wonder if this is the last dig before they lay the tracks for light rail?

Panama Flats

The Panama flats building on Exchange street in St. Paul.  I used a super wide fish eye type lens.   Thought it would be fun to see if I could get the entire building in one shot.

Government Plaza Station

This is another Minneapolis skyway shot.  I took it from the skyway level of the Pillsbury building.  The Minneapolis government center is one of the most photogenic buildings in the twin cities.  Built in  the late 1880′s it looks like a castle.

Winter Skyline

Happy New Year and enjoy the day.  My plans include un-holiday decorating and probably a little photography.  I have taken this shop before and I am sure I will take it again. What caught my eye this time was the frosty haze over the river, all the snow and the refection of the water in the mighty Mississippi.

Minneapolis skyway

I like the views from the skyways in Minneapolis and St. Paul but this time of year the glass usually has a kind of salt film on it from all the road salt we use in these parts. You can see it in this photo especially on the right side. I played with it some and got it to work for me by adding a little texture.

Shadows

I like the way the plants grow in the cracks of the buildings. This one was also taken in New Orleans.  I took it early in the morning my last day there.  Now I want to go back.

St. Louis Cathedral

I never saw a picture of St. Louis Cathedral and I never saw it in person until last week. It is located in the French Quarter in New Orleans. This is the photo that everyone takes and I managed to do the same without even knowing it.  Mine is a bit wider angle than most otherwise they all look pretty much the same.  Most of the photos I have found center the statue with the horse so that it stands out in the photo.  I didn’t really even see the statue when I took the shot which is probably a good thing.  Yup I would take it again.
