This is not the first picture I have taken of the boat landing and I am sure it won’t be the last. This year it was underwater until mid July which is unusual. The first bridge in the background is the Robert Street bridge which is on the national register and in between the arches you can see the Wabasha street bridge and if you look carefully in the arch on the far left frames the last stretch of the Smith Avenue bridge.

I am not sure if it is because of the heat or because I live in Minnesota but I feel an need to dip my toes in the water. The photo was taken in one of my favorite spots on the planet, San Francisco California. I think it has been awhile since I have taken a photo that I like as much or enjoyed taking as much as I did this one.

It is always fun to go to the lake but I have to say the did everything they could to make sure we would not see tall ships on August the 28th even though all the web sites said that they would be in the harbor. They were hiding.

I love to photograph the Mississippi river at night. With the colors and the reflections it never looks the same twice. I took this one just after the July 4th fireworks in St. Paul. I like the boats and the barges. I have a rule about shooting downtown and that is that the 1 must be lit up on the first bank building. It blinks on and off and I delete the shot if it is off. I did get some shots of the fireworks too but amazingly they look the same every year.
