Hanging flowers

I love seeing the flowers in St. Paul during the summer. These are on West 7th street.  Last year they were pink, I like the red better.

Art and architecture

Had to post another photo of  “God Bless America” on Michigan avenue in Chicago.  I took them at a few different angles, they are surrounded by neo-Gothic architecture.

Valve

I am not sure if it is the rust, or the colors but I just keep taking photos of valves.  Now I have a collection of them. I may have to start a group on Flickr. There must be others out there who like to photograph valves.

The puddle in the park

When I find a good puddle I shoot it. it is like getting two photos for the price of one. It was windy down by the river the day I took this and the water from the fountain was blowing all over the walkway.

Bus

This was taken on the corner of 6th and Wacouta in downtown St. Paul. I am not sure what’s up with the bus.

Auto Service

This is a mural on the side of an Lancer’s Auto Care on the corner of 8th and Wacouta in downtown St. Paul. I have admired the mural for years but have never been able to get a good shot of it because it either has cars parked in front of it or bright sunlight on it.

Rusty Wheels

Rust and brick . . for me it just doesn’t get any better than that. I love to take photos of both so when I find them in one place I get pretty excited about it.  An unusual hobby I know.

Tobacco shed

Next to the shed is what remains of a home that was almost destroyed by a fire. The yard has little clumps of daffodils in it in full bloom.  It was the hay bails that caught my eye. My husband agreed to stop the car for the tenth time so I could get this shot.  He got some nice shots too.  We found this in Southern Tennessee.

Redbud

These are very common in Georgia and Tennessee. They grow along the road sides and just about everywhere. I had never seen one before so I took too many shots of them.

The Mighty Mississippi

My favorite time of day to take photos on the river is just as the sun is rising. I like the way it makes everything look silvery. This shot was taken in the river park just off of Shepard road in St. Paul, MN. There is a park along the river, it is close to home and one of my favorite places to go.
