Parking Anytime
by Teresa Boardman on Jan.27, 2010, under General
This wagon has been parked in this parking lot on west 7th street, in St. Paul since the 1800′s. Not really but it seems like it. There is a story . . . but not a very interesting one. It was once stolen from the West End Business nd Professional association. They used it as a float in the local parade . . . which has not been held for years . . and there is a story there too. The association eventually got the wagon back and then they parked it here. I think the building is owned by a member. At one point they tried to sell it but I don’t think they ever did. I guess there are some things that are fun to steal but people don’t want them if they have to pay for them.

Still urban blight

This sign just gets better looking every year. It is near what was once a brewery. The place is ancient and has had a few owners over the decades. I think it has been a decade since beer was made in the place. They made a brew there called “landmark”. The brewery is being renovated but the plans seem kind of sketchy. It could be becasue of the economy. I am thinking that the sign will no be renovated any time soon. I took some photos of it last year and I will take some again next year.
Shack

I found this in Tennessee last month. I can take shots like this in Minnesota too and I will when the grass gets a little greener. There is something peaceful about abandoned buildings and empty rooms.
