Bird on the beach

One last photograph from Huntington Beach CA.  I hope I get to got back some day and see more.  I am so thankful for my friends at Zeek Interactive for having me at the company holiday party and for sending some work my way these these past few months.  They are an amazing and talented group of people.

I took so many photographs of this pier.   The scene kept changing with the light and the waves and as the tide started to come in.

Reflection

Reflections are fun to photograph.  The water was so still when I took this one that it is hard to tell where the trees end and the water begins.  A shame I wasn’t there at sunset.

This is not the first picture I have taken of the boat landing and I am sure it won’t be the last.  This year it was underwater until mid July which is unusual.  The first bridge in the background is the Robert Street bridge which is on the national register and in between the arches you can see the Wabasha street bridge and if you look carefully in the arch on the far left frames the last stretch of the Smith Avenue bridge.

Fall on the river

We are just getting started.  In a week or so the river bluffs will be red and orange.  I took this last night from the bike path along the upper landing park.  I like to stop here because Herons and other birds like to hang out on the sandbar.  Last night there was a conference on the point.  I saw geese and ducks hanging out and discussing the news of the day.

Alone

I often bike or walk along the Mississippi River because that is where most of the trails are and it is close to home.  It isn’t often  I see a single canoe in the river.  Looks like fun.  I may try it one day.   I shot him from a bridge on the trail along Shepard Road on my way to Fort Snelling National Park.

We have not had a cloudy day for awhile.  The day I took this it was partly cloudy and a little windy.  I took this from Raspberry Island Park.

Island on the St. Croix

The St. Croix river is shallow with many sandbars and Islands.  This little Island is part of a state park.  It is filled with wildflowers and birds and probably bugs too.

Mist

When I woke up last Sunday I could hear rain drops hitting the tent.  It wasn’t raining but the dew point was very high.  It turned out to be a gorgeous day.

Looking down - Stone Arch Bridge

Yet another shot from the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis.  In this shot we have St. Anthony Falls.  You can’t hear it in the picture but it is really very noisy.
