We haven’t yet reached peak fall color. I am ready for it. Fall is a short season this far North. The leaves will peak around mid October but be gone by Halloween.
Last spring we had house wrens in the bird house by the back door. They are fun to watch and we enjoy their song. This time of year (not photographed) we have a bees nest by the back porch and even though we do watch them we don’t enjoy it.
A momma falcon and a couple of babies. Wishing I had a better telephoto lens.
St. Paul has many parks with water features. This park is on the river bluff above the Mississippi River and along Kellogg Blvd.
Wild turkey can be a hazard as they will hang out on the bike path. This one was doing a little early morning foraging in Lilydale park.
The water is receding but it will be awhile before this path is again above water. Floods leave a kind of muddy sludge on everything so even after the water is gone the path isn’t really useable.
I was down by the river last night. It is unusually low in spite of all of the rain we have been getting. No danger of flooding.
