I grow these or maybe I should say they grow themselves in my Yard. I associate them with the start of Summer because they tend to start blooming around the middle of June. There are so many things blooming right now that you might start to notice a theme on my photo blog. 🙂
I spent many happy hours when I was a child walking along the dirt road by the cabin. I would pick the alfalfa that grew along the road and make bouquets out of it. I found this plant near pickerel lake.
This plant has a few names including indigo and false indigo. It is pollinator friendly and beuatiful.
My mom gave me this plant 20 years ago or so. It almost died at one point because it was a little to close to a volunteer elm tree I had to dig out. It survived and get a little bigger each year.
We really appreciate Spring in Minnesota. We have had a cold wet spring this year but it is still beautiful.
