Nothing attracts butterflies like the Northern Plains Blazing Star plant. The flowers in the background are rag weed.
The goldenrod in blooming and the butterflies and bees are enjoying it. I just like to look at the flowers but I think they must be tasty because they do attract a lot of attention.
purple loosestrife is an invasive species that is spreading. If can be found along the river and in ditches and wetlands. it is a hearty perennial that takes over wetlands. This plant is growing by the Mississippi river in local park land.
A slight change in the angle from the last photograph I posted. This one is my favorite because of the color. Found in Como Park where looking is free. 🙂
This one looks blue in some of the photos and purple in others. It is kind of a blueish purple. Pretty to look at and fun to photograph. Found at Como Park in St. Paul.
The weather was so perfect Tuesday morning that instead of sitting down to work I started the day by taking pictures of flowers at Como conservatory. The building wasn’t open but the grounds are. I really enjoyed the quiet and of course the flowers.
