I take these shots every year and it is hard to know when to stop. Pink flowers always look so amazing to me after a long cold winter. Flowers if any type are fun to photograph.
So many plants blooming at once it is hard to decide which ones to photograph. Bleeding heart is one of my favorites. They just started to open in the last few days.
A close-up of a fern I found while biking through the woods. Ferns are ancient and amazing too. The picture was taken with a mobile phone with a macro lens added on. I especially like the colors.
Taken close-up with my mobile phone using a macro lens. Almost makes me want to get a macro lens or my camera.
Unless you know where to look you won’t notice that wild ginger is blooming. The flowers hide close to the ground. Ginger can be found in wet wooded areas. The leaves appear before the tree leaves open and are easy to spot because there is little that is green on the forest floor this time of year.
Every spring before the leaves on the trees open I go into the woods and photograph bloodroot. They are one of the first wild plants to bloom each year. They can be found in wooded areas and grow in clumps.
