Did you ever photograph something just because of the color?

White Flower

I love to photograph flowers.  They are colorful and fun to photograph but I have never been able to get the white ones to turn out.  This one is close. In fact if I process it again I may be able to make the blown out part on the left disappear.   I used a speed light on this and set it at about 1/2 power.

Lilly

I took this picture last year but decided to post it today because there has been too much brown on my blog this month.  I am working on the problem and hope to have it under control.  Thanks for you patience.

Violet

I bought this plant last Fall.   I used to have several house plants but have gotten rid of most of them over the years.  It is nice to have a violet blooming in the kitchen.  I am thinking of buying another to keep this one company.  They are easy to grow, all they need is some sunlight, water and some plant food when I remember.

Marjory McNeely Conservatory at Como Park

I photograph the sunken garden every year.  The flowers change with the seasons and I always enjoy it.  I like to think my photographs of it have improved over the years.  There are millions of photographs like this.  There are a few photographers in this photo too.

Paperwhites

I have been doing a little experimenting with loads RAW images onto my iPad from my camera and processing them on the iPad.  I like the way it works but it is a challenge because the photographs always look better on the iPad than they do on the computer screen.  This photo is one of my first attempts.

happy halloween

Halloween is probably the least scary thing going on the the world.  The photo is of the front porch of the Forepaughs restaurant on Exchange street in St. Paul which is haunted.

I love the smell I just wish I could photograph it.

I don’t remember taking this picture.  I must have been walking or riding my bike past the science museum.  It was especially nice to see the flowers this year.
