In St. Paul we always have room for the old and the new.
The black blob in the photo is a pigeon that I did not see when I took the shot. This building houses Bruegger’s bagels and Candy Land in downtown St. Paul. Next time you stop by Candy Land look up, but also watch out for pigeons.
A lot of work has been done to restore the dome in the State capitol building. It used to have chipped paint and plaster. Today it is absolutely gorgeous with vibrant paint and shiny gold. The Minnesota state Capitol building was designed by Cass Gilbert.
This is my favorite of my destruction photos and it concludes my five part series on demolition. These pictures can never be taken again and that is probably OK.
It looks more like a spider web.
The reason this is taking so long to demolish is because of the way it was built. Built to last.
