The end of the day
by Teresa Boardman on Jul.23, 2010, under For Fun
The days are getting a little shorter. I was able to get a “golden hour” shot after a meeting this week. August is on of the best months for golden hour, twilight and night shooting. It is still warm out and I don’t have to stay out so late. I am a morning person. This is a tent on Harriet Island in St. Paul. This weekend is the Red Bull Flugtag, so I am cleaning my lenses and charging my batteries. Homemade flying machines will be launched off of a 30 foot ramp on Harriet Island over the Mississippi River. If anyone reading this is planing on going please let me know. I plan on watching from the North side of the river. I think the view will be better and there are not as many hills to climb with my bike.
Wind and water

We usually go up to lake Superior in mid to late September. it is still tourist season but there are fewer people and the days are shorter to it is easier to get those sunrise and sunset shots. I ended up getting wet taking this shot. I had tried to get it from a couple of other places but every time I composed a shot a small child in brightly colored clothing would pop up and end up in the shot. So I got close and I think the discoloration in the photo occurred when the spray hit the lens.
Rocky shores

I will get back to St. Paul but I need to linger awhile longer on the shores of lake Superior. I take a lot of photos when I am up there because I need them to get through the winter. I have one of those electronic picture frames on the wall by my desk and sometimes I turn it on and watch the lake. This photo was taken in Two Harbors MN near the light house.
Wrong Way

They never have mid air collisions. These are the evil gulls of Canal Park in Duluth MN. They never sleep they wait for tourists with pop corn.
Two Harbors Light House

This light house has been shot so many times that I think it has faded. I couldn’t resist taking a few shots but I decided to try a new angle. It is a working light house by that I mean the light is lit. It is now a B&B and I have stayed there. I give it five stars.
Rocks

Taken near Two harbors Minnesota on the shore of lake Superior. We went up there for a few days for a little R & R and there isn’t anything more relaxing than watching water.
