Pots of spring flowers on the sidewalks.
I love the colors of the new leaves in the spring. It is almost fluorescent and only lasts for a week or two.
This is a picture from last year. The week ahead is supposed to be cold and rainy. I thought the trees would bloom over the weekend. Maybe next weekend?
There is a renovated firehouse next to a new hotel across the street from a new addition to the hospital. The area looks so different than it did just a few years ago when there was more pavement and fewer buildings.
Normally I use a wide angle lens to photograph architecture and street scenes. This one was taken with a 100mm prime lens. I can’t get as close which is fine. I am going to keep experimenting and am looking forward to getting out for some night shots too.
I went out last Saturday looking for the spring wildflowers that bloom before the trees have leaves. I didn’t find any there was still a little snow in the woods and the ground felt frozen in spots.
I’ll go back in a few days and see what I can find. It looks like the park is undergoing renovations. This may be the last year that I see the native woodland spring wildflowers.
