More Cold

Comcast Building

I got some photos last weekend early in the morning when it was well below zero.  The clouds in the photo are not really clouds but steam from the power plant which is more than a mile down river, maybe two from this spot.  The cloud hangs in the air and blocks some of the sun most of the day.  The river was steaming too because it doesn’t freeze solid and there is open water.  The building is the Comcast building as viewed from across the river.

Soooo beautiful. The harmony of airy cloud above the geometry of the building.

The severe cold changes the air. it becomes frosty and kind of misty looking with ice crystals in it. At the same time the air is dry and light. The combination is what gets me to go out into the brutal cold and get some shots. I process them to bring it all out but I can tell you it looks just like what you would see if you stood in the same spot.
