Brick Church

There is no substitute for good lighting and lighting is essential for a good photograph. I am finding though that sometimes if I am lucky HDR processing will compensate for the poor lighting just enough so that I have an OK photo. The right light would have been better but we can’t always be in the right place when the conditions are just so.

Nice looking old church. Like the light effect, I tried HDR but was not really sure what I was doing and gave up. Luck comes into the timing of getting nice natural light, I often find building facing wrong direction for best shot!

That is the problem. You get a chance to shoot something but the light is from the wrong direction. I take the shot anyway and sometimes I get lucky. As for the HDR it took many hours of practice to get it to where I can use it on most photos. I use photomatix. The tutorial is decent.

I loved the picture, I think this could be in a Van Gogh painting.

It’s beautiful against that sky! HDR or not, this is a great shot.
Looks like that little Catholic church off of I-94 between St. Paul and the St. Croix River…
