Cotton wood tree

Landmark CottonWood Tree

Harriet Island Regional park is a big draw for me.  Part of it is because of the trees.  They are ancient and huge.   This cottonwood tree is among the biggest on the Island and my photo doesn’t do it justice . . just trust me on that.  The tree was designated a landmark tree through the City of St. Paul landmark tree program.   Can you even imagine what a park would be like without these amazing trees? This tree will turn bright yellow in the next couple of weeks and I plan to go back for another shot.
