These flowers really are called spring beauty. They are very small and they grow in the woods. One has to walk carefully and look down to find them. The spring wildflowers in Minnesota tend to be very small and delicate. These bloom at about the same time that the buds on the trees open so that is when I start hunting for them. I have a wonderful time hunting. I love the woods I always have.

lovely flowers, you’ve inspired me to shoot wild flowers.
.-= Rob´s last blog ..Orange Zest =-.
Rob – I have been collecting them for years and have a wildflower blog that I should move to this site. My goal is to shoot them all in five years.
It’s the same here. You have to stop and get down low to actually see some of the small woodland flowers. This is a great shot.
I love wildflowers. I am working on Alabama and Georgia. Good luck reaching your goal.
