I visit the state capital building at least once a year. It is a great place to take photos. Last year I didn’t bring my wide angle lens and tht was a big mistake. You just can’t beat a good wide angle lens for interior photography. This is the stairway that everyone shoots so I have to do it too. The picture doesn’t come close to capturing it’s beauty. Maybe next year I will get one that does.

Hilda – it is a Cass Gilbert building. I can’t really do it justice especially not without a tripod. I figure if I shoot a few each year eventually I will have a good shot of each part of it.
Hi, I think that banisters are striking when they are made of iron, too. I love the iron scroll work in the photograph below. Again, it compliments the shape of the stairway. The designer of this space did a great job combining Mediterranean and traditional genres. Jenny.
