Also part of Historic Hill District National Register #76001067, on the corner of Sebly and Western, 400 Selby to be exact. The Blair Arcade, or the Blair Flats, was built in 1887 and was originally the Angus Hotel. Today it houses condos and some businesses like Nina’s cafe. it is a massive structure that wraps around the corner and it isn’t unusual to see someone standing near it pointing a camera at it. Personally I could easily spend hours shooting it because there are so many interesting angles and so much to see.

That place is huge. I’d love to go inside.
Go to Nina’s coffee shop it is a lot of fun.
In the late 1960′s,I was attending the School of the Associate Arts on Summit Avenue (an amazing building in it’s own right,) and ,having friends living nearby, often walked past the Angus. At that time, this amazing structure was little more than a burned out shell, with most of the windows broken out,it’s boarded entries regularly violated by transients seeking shelter from the worst of winter nights. It is a miracle the Angus was spared the wrecking ball. We’re so very fortunate that someone had the vision to save and restore this gem,as well as the building housing W.A. Frost across the street. Whoever you are, thank you.
We did not save them all.
