These were officers quarters at fort Snelling. The buildings are still standing, they don’t build them like they used to. These are Italianate style and I would guess they were built in the 1860′s and 70′s. The fort it self dayes back to 1819, and is slowly dissapearing. The oldest part of it has been preserved. When I went out there to take some photos the military personel ignored me when I went where I was not supposed to go. Maybe they know that I just want to take some photos.

It’s sad when beautiful historic buildings like this are gone. Why isn’t someone trying to save them?
People are trying to save it but there is a lot to save and it costs a lot of money. Some of the buildings are falling down and last summer I noticed some are being torn down too.
Cool perspective. It is sad to see that fort dying. Unfortunately it will probably loose out until it becomes a political hotbed for a governor or senator.
I remember going there s a kid…. anyone from around here probably does.
You can still visit, a big part of it has been preserved and restored
